Hi Ann and others.
The recent downpours in the North of Spain must have affected the various Caminos passing through Cantabria and Asturias. On the Primitivo there have been problems between Oviedo and La Espina with the N-634 washed out near Casa Zorrina by the Rio Nonaya. Normally this is a tranquil little stream but it became a raging torrent on the 15th / 16th. June. The N-634 traffic is being diverted round local roads until repairs are carried out. The sheer volume of water must have taken out some of the foot-bridges as well, like this one shown at Debesa near Casa Zorrina. Further down the Primitivo near Tineo, it was very wet in May when we were there. I would suggest calling in the Bar in El Pedregal and asking the state of the Camino. If they say "Feo" consider walking on the road! Otherwise it may be knee deep in water and mud!
It would be good to hear from anyone on the Camino now!
