Like many people on this forum, I am always looking for ways to lighten the load in my backpack. Back at the time of my first Camino I remember people suggesting that I cut the labels out of my clothes as yet another way to reduce pack weight. So, my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to see for myself how much difference it would make if the labels were removed from my gear. Not much it turns out (see attached picture).
I suppose if I'm really serious about moving less mass down the trail, I'll cut back on my consumption of chocolate and almond butter.....
....time to go cut the handle off of my toothbrush.
