hi all,

im leaving to start my walk on august 1st this year. What have been some of the most favored spots to stay for the night? What are some of the most unique and intriguing places along the way? I will be either leaving from Le Puy or from Geneva. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

thanks
chris

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Hi Chris,

I completed my walk from SJPP to Finisterre first week of June, I also walked a large part of the way with someone who started in Geneva. Good luck!

As for best/most interesting places to stay:
1. In Burgos it's worth splurging on the Hotel El Cid. My room had a window overlooking the cathedral and it's location can't be beat for sight seeing.
2. In the mesetas there's a place called Arroyo San Bol, it has no electricity or washrooms other than the fields, but has the most wonderful atmosphere and kindest hospitalliers, The food was amazing and the live music all afternoon and evening really was great. It's an 'experience' to say the least.
3. Granon - I had a chance to see the sun set from the church's clock tower and then retired to my mat in the church choir balcony :) how often do you get to sleep in a church? (dress up 'cause it gets ccccold).

Good luck and buen camino!
Eric
