What do beds at Roncesvalles cost this year?

Time of past OR future Camino
2006 to date: Over 21 Caminos. See signature line
Boy, I have had a HECK of a time with my reservation for Roncesvalles this year.
The website doesn't work - and I FINALLY got a bill that shows what I've paid and what I owe, but I'm a little confused.

They are charging me €20 per person.
Does this include bed and dinner?
I thought it was €12 for the bed?
Is it €10 for bed and €10 for dinner?
The website does not say what the bed price is.
Anybody stayed there recently?
Thanks.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I’m having trouble with the website too. Booked my night but didn’t get a confirmation email, so I guess I have to start over. There was another thread talking about this as well (can’t look it up at the moment, but worth having a look).

I was charged 25.5 euro for bed, dinner, and breakfast. This was in late April. I believe breakfast was 3.5, dinner 10, which would make the bed cost 12 euro.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

If it were for one person I ‘wouldn’t worry.’ However it is for multiple bookings and I need to know the total.

I stay there each year. I was just wondering if the rates had changed ...but thanks for your answer. Lol.

When we arrived we were given colour coded necklaces 4 different colours were distributed and we had to wait an hour at least its ridicioulous lol but only time i encountered it..... i heard some woman complaining about reservations when i was in queue maybe youre better just ringing them when yourr nearly there to confirm

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I tried several times but the web site would cancel my purchase. Emailed them. They gave me the option of reserving through PayPal using their email. Works just fine. It cost me 27 Eur including bed, dinner, breakfast. I emailed them of this and got confirmation. There's a 1.50 EUR Surcharge thru PayPal

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Slightly threadjacking....does anyone just turn up in Roncesvalles any more or do you have to book in advance?

various people have reported that there is the first floor of beds (about 70) that can be reserved, and two floors above that (about 110 beds) that cannot be reserved. plus the winter albergue with 18 beds or so (unreservable) which is sometimes used as an overflow.
as for dinner and breakfast, I imagine you reserve them when you book into the albergue for the night.

Realize that having a reservation does not afford any advantage during check-in. Check-in occurs based entirely on when you arrive. Arrive early in the day and you will not have any problem, whether you have a reservation or not. Arrive later in the afternoon and you can expect a long wait to check-in. Hopefully, you will be luckier than I was in April, when my check-in took over two hours.

There was only one person who could check people in. There were multiple volunteers keeping pilgrims from entering the office and overwhelming the check-in person. The check-in person dealt with those having a reservation and those not based on your arrival time, not your reservation status. Pilgrims did not know or had a difficult time understanding that they had to show their passports, credentials, and if the had a reservation, evidence of that reservation, plus needed to fill out a survey form prior to seeing the check-in person. Some did not, making the check-in process much slower than it needed to be. Since my docs were in order and I had prepaid (reservation) my time with the check-in person took under 5 minutes. Some took longer having to go retrieve passports or credentials or booking information. Not sure why there was only one check-in person.

So having a reservation may get you a better bed in a better section of the albergues but it confers no advantage in obtaining a timely check-in. If that is an important consideration to you you might want to investigate the private accommodations available or ensure that you arrive early in the afternoon.
