Hope it`s the right forum  Havent found a "early planning" forum yet...

Only got a week for my camino. Leaving ca october.
Therefore I first thought on the Ingles route. But after a lot of reading in forums aso, that may not be the best since i`m a female alone traveler, 28 young years, and have never traveled alone before. I am skeptical of not having so many others on the road..

Then I got an idea of the french route maybe starting from Sarria, but maybe not que full albergues,? Still more and more tells me this route would be best.

Everything is now ??? due more and more readning from those who have traveled the different caminos.
But it`s so great to discover these forums and all the great people out there. Hope to see some on my way :)

I now have an idea of taking a bus to finnisterre after I`ve finished in Santiago, just to see the end of the world :D

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Re: Please, I can`t decide on what route to take!!

At that time of the year, there will be plenty of sleeping space from Sarria to Santiago. It takes about six days, and you will have many other pilgrims with you.

Re: Please, I can`t decide on what route to take!!

OK, thanks :) Was hoping it were a day shorter or so. Would like to take a longer camino, but as a student I can`t take time of, other in the summer.. So got one week now, two/three days goes for traveling by plain and bus.

I hope I manage to do the travel :|

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Sarria to Santiago is 112 kms.
I have talked to pilgrims who did it in 3 days... An aggressive schedule of 37 kms per day.
"Most" pilgrims take 4 days... At 28 kms per day it is a little above the average of 25 kms per day.
"some" pilgrims take 5 days... A very manageable 22 kms per day.
"Few" pilgrims take 6 days... An easy 19 kms per day, unless, because you are just starting you have blisters, are out of shape or are carrying an enormous pack.

Start in Sarria, and enjoy!

Hi Alkimisten,
I'm also walking on my own from Sarria in Oct as I only have one week. What date do you expect to start? I'm probably arriving on the 6.30am train from Madrid on about 22nd Oct and hope to start walking straight away. If our dates overlap we could touch base. Good luck with your planning.

thank you for the answers. Something came up, and I had to cancel. But now I`m back again, with making plans. So hope to go next spring!
