When I left Larrasoana last time, I left an hour or so before daylight. I walked along the path in a thinly forested area and came into the first area of houses- maybe 3 miles. As the sun started to rise I noticed that one of the houses on the left had an outside wood fired oven and a lady was cooking something. I paused and (stupidly) kept walking. I later heard that she was getting breakfast ready for the Peregrinos...? Does anyone know of this place? Is it real, or, was I led down the rabbit hole.

I think it might be El Horno de Irotz, at least that is what my notes and stamp say. We stopped there in 2012 and had a bite to eat on a beautiful Sunday morning. It was run at that time by a husband, wife and a nine or ten year old girl/daughter. They were lovely people and the food was great. I see from Google Street View that it has been done up and formalized by 2013.

El Horno de Irotz seems to have changed quite a bit since 2013. In 2015, when my friends insisted on stopping there, it was a fully fledged open air pizza place that served pizzas and other food. There are two pizza ovens outside. They are apparently open from 7am until 3pm. Irotz is about 6 km from Larrosoana.
In 2012 they were operating from their garage, there was one pizza oven in the corner of the garden at the back but it was not in use on that day. I am glad to see they are doing well.

I agree that it is probably El Horno. It has changed since 2013 where it was just an oven & a garage. When I saw it last year, I wondered if it was even the same place. Great spot for a break!
