What to bring on la Via de la Plata vis a vis Camino Frances

Time of past OR future Camino
Camino Frances 2008, half Via del Plata 2011, Camino Fisterra 2011, Camino Aragones 2013.
Walked el Camino Frances in September so I have a pretty good idea of what to wear/bring on the Via de la Plata I am hoping to walk in 2009*. There are a few things I am wondering about though:

1. I wore light-ish waterproof boots on C Frances and felt they were the right choice. AM thinking though that something lighter would be more appropriate for VdlP, trainers even?

2. Brought the classic Altus poncho with me on CF, amazingly I only had to use it properly one day. Should I bring it with me from Sevilla to Salamanca? Likewise my light fleece which I don't think I wore until Burgos.

Salamanca - Santiago Sep 2010

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Both of your questions relate to weather-which is unpredictable. The footwear question, in my opinion, depends on the weather. This year I wore light goretex hiking shoes but got wet feet so many times I've now bought leather boots. But trainers would be ok but in april there could be lots of mud. Take the poncho! I got drenched this year from Granada because I had a very cheap poncho which ripped right down the front and was basically useless after a few wears. I now have a proper rain jacket.

Hola, I gearing up to start my 1st CdS and have seen people recommended sleeping bag liners to protect against bed bugs. Do these help or is it a myth? Should I add the extra weight of bringing one?
