We're planning the VdlP in 2021. This year we were in Sevilla in February, and the weather was beautiful, ideal for walking.
For various reasons, we would like to start later than February from Sevilla. We would like to avoid high temperatures, in particular as there are a few stages which we won't be able to bring down to the 15km we aim for.
So the question is: when does it start getting hot? Is a late April start too late?

Hi, AJ,
I have started twice in Sevilla, once in mid April, once in the very beginning of May. Both were fine temperature-wise. In fact, during my May start, I found that I was frequently using my lambswool gloves till 10 or 11 in the morning. I don’t remember any extremely hot days, but things are changing, I know. In any event, I would say late April should be fine. And that also enhances the chances for a spectacular wildflower display from Sevilla onwards.

The dehesa north of Mérida is stunning in late spring, so that’s another thing to think about.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
