When is the Big Mass in Santiago?

We are in Pedrouzo, and wont be arriving in Santiago until noon tomorrow the earliest. When is the big mass with the pilgrims and Botafumeiro? Do you go to the mass first or get your Compostela?

How long does it take to get the compostela? - are there big lines? I am so excited and so close and not sure if I can get any sleep. Are there lots of places to get our stamps closer to Santiago. How strict are they about the compostela - I believe I have two stamps from each day. thanks.

The mass was at. 7:30 pm but there was a special Pilgrims service in English in the little side chapel at 6:30. This gives you lots of time to get your Compestela and find a place to stay.
Congratulations Pilgrim!!!

The Pilgrim Mass is at noon. They announce the previous day arrivals. The botafumeiro may or may not swing. It has been swinging daily of late because someone is paying for it. At the 1930 mass on Friday they swing the botafumeiro for sure.

There can be lines at the Pilgrim Office.
