Trying to plan a trip.
Hello,

When is the Feast of Saint James in 2019? How can I plan for it?

Should I be walking the last 100km to coincide with this feast? Will it be crowded? What sorts of activities happen during this day?

Like every year on the 25th of July.
Yes it will be absolutely crowded.
Prices for lodging will go through the roof.

25th July. Always the 25th of July. The city is always very crowded though this year hotels were complaining that they had not completely sold out as usual. Not something I would bet on though. The biggest public event actually takes place on the night of 24th July when there is a huge light show and fireworks in the square in front of the cathedral.

Hola - the feast will be on a Thursday, if you are planning to be in Santiago around that time do some early planning about accommodation. Santiago really celebrates this Saints "special day"(I think its a public holiday across Spain), its not just the pilgrims - people from all over Spain and in fact all over the world come here. Cheers

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Indeed Mike.Santiago is the patron Saint of Spain.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi Trevor, it's fun to be in the city around July 24 and 25 but if you're just coming off of the Camino and want to extend your quietness/ solitude you may find it pretty jarring to be among the bustle, crowds, noise, and actual carnival in the park in Santiago. It's up to you if you want to arrive here for it or avoid it :).

Buen Camino!

We can speak about religion now or we don't???
St.James is part of a religion, isn't he???
Are we allowed all of a sudden???

PS (What about Pagans as @Tincatinker and myself???)
