When to Go??

I have been planning for about 18 months to walk this September. Have everything planned - leaving Melbourne on the 31st August via Dublin and starting the walk on the 6th September. A mate was also going to walk with me but now he cannot do it until next year - Marchish, I do not want to delay the walk but the pressure is on. I have two choices - do it by myself or wait.
To help solve my dilemma I have a couple of questions:
What is the best time to walk, Sept or March?
What is the availability of accommodation in March compared with Sept?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

My suggestion would be sept rather than march as that month would have cooler weather than summer and less likelihood of rain. From what I've read on this forum this winter in spain was very harsh-snow and mud.
By the way I'm from melbourne and will be leaving tonight for a few weeks in uk then to start my camino from Le Puy-good luck!

Thanks for your inut omar, I have looked at some of the pictures of snow on the Camino and feel that March is not such a great idea. Enjoy your journey, as I read this forum and hear of all the people heading off now or very shortly I become more resolved that I must go in September.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Yes, I think better in september, too. Sunlight covers more hours, so you can walk during more time everyday. Better weather. It's easy to find snow in march, impossible in september.

Buen Camino,
