Where/how do you cross over to the Primitivo from the Norte?

Probably a dumb question, but...
Is there a marked trail between the two? Where do you get off the Norte to begin the Primitivo. I'm not sure it's what I'l do, but looking at options.

There are massive painted directions on the pavement at the turnoff...plus signs and plaques . You would have to be blindfolded to miss it.

HAA! Just last year, I met two Germans who were surprised to find they were on the path to Oviedo. I don't know how they missed it, but it can happen. So, just in case -- a few kms after leaving Villaviciosa, there’s a well-marked split. Left to Oviedo, straight ahead to Gijon. There are two towns with albergues before Oviedo -- Vega de Sebrayo (small albergue, a couple of restaurants, grocery store) and Pola de Siero (small city, albergue looks really nice).

And just in case you are one of those who shares my love of ancient churches, there is a gem, a pre-romanesque church called Valdediós, which is nestled in a little valley. It is a short well-marked detour after the split, maybe no more than a km or two longer, on the way to Oviedo. It is beautiful, the surrounding area is very pretty too. There is also an albergue there, so I guess that makes three!

In the Camino Del Norte Village to Village map guide on page 61 it shows that you go right to stay on the Camino Del Norte and the Camino Primitivo goes left toward Oviedo.

So glad you asked this question. This was the research I was doing this evening for my walk in September. Between the Camino de Santiago book and the Camino Del Norte from Village to Village it didn't have a map of that section that I really wanted to see. There was text there, but I still wanted to see a map. ( the northern Caminos guidebook just doesn't do it for me. It's a little confusing. I also downloaded the combined Guide to the Camino Primitivo... that Liz Brandt put together but she starts in Oviedo. There's no connector from Del Norte. ) no complaints about these other options, guidebooks, downloads. I just wanted others to know about the information.
