Is it the medieval bridge after Cirauqui but before Lorca on the CF ? It's restored now but I think this might be and old photo prior to the reno.

Could you perhaps share your short cut Margret and you and I are are fans of small detours.

I need a bit of help from Mr Brierley here :) .

I get on the red road when the path crosses it just outside Cirauqui, and I stay on the red road until the path crosses back again just before Lorca. The road is VERY quiet as 99% of the traffic is on the blue freeway alongside.

@RENSHAW started this and we solved the riddle. So I'm going to keep it going with bridge No. 2. If you guess the bridge, it's your turn to post the next one...
Again, it's on the Camino Francés.

Enjoying this bridge game! ... Let me challenge y'all with a beautiful Romanesque puente de peregrinos -- rebuilt in the 16th C -- that very few of you will have actually seen or crossed! Where is it ?

Puente Romano de Ferreira over the Rio de Ferreira, Just before the Albergue Ponte Ferreira.
(The Googlemaps pluscode is: W5WM+C5 Ferreira)

I'll pass on the next pic, handing over to @rappahannock_rev . 😊
Where the heck is his bridge?
I am guessing somewhere on the Aragones rather than the Frances? It looks the same vintage as the beautiful bridge in Estella.

I have no idea of @rappahannock_rev’s bridge, but when I peeped in I was delighted to see the development of the original post. Neither do I have any bridge photos to hand, but this has set me to exploring our ubiquitous search engine. I add links to just two of many fascinating sources of information. Now, back to those who will have the clue to @rappahannock’s bridge...

I wonder who can recognize this post-modernist "puente de peregrinos"
It is sort of famous, hard to avoid, bouncy, and about 20 cm (8 inches) wide!

Allow me to interrupt please. I'm following the thread but not watching it so jumping in at an appropriate time may be impossible.

@VNwalking took a picture of an unique bridge. I had a copy of her pic handy and she gave me permission to post it for her. Identify and/or locate. (I don't know the location myself.)

I apologize if I missed someone's post, I am going to make a correction to the identification of the location of Rappahannack's bridge, it is at Canfranc, not Canfranc Estacion two different places.

Correct. The puente in question spans the Rio Aragon just south of the more-or-less derelict village of Canfranc (el Viejo), which is itself a bit south of the quite prosperous town of Canfranc Estacion.

I thought it was a real beauty.

True
More specifically?
Haha. Thunderous silence. So...at least people who've replied on this thread have walked right past it. And who knows how many lurkers?
Hint.
Those chickens are living in what my OSMand map labels as 'San Sebastian Ermita,' which is a strange fate for an old hermitage.

I think it's been there for 3 years. Sometimes if there is no rain for some time, the stream dries out and you can walk right through it. You may not even notice this iron thing because it is a bit on the right side.

This ‘bridge’ is the bane of my caminos. I cannot walk across it without holding onto someone’s hand - the last time it was a fine German fellow who had joined the Frances off the Primitivo. Before entering this wooded area, there is a large billboard/sign showing an alternative but listing this as the recommended route.

I wonder if these are different rock stepping stone bridges? The one that @Kanga posted is larger boulders and has water on both sides - I have a memory of crossing it after Melide. Looks closer to the photo from @NorthernLight. I could be wrong - I must have taken a photo but can't find one :) Your bridge @VNwalking , looks like flatter stones and it hugs the bank.

No, it’s not the same spot. There are actually quite a few places with stepping stone walkways alongside wet spots.

Many changes I think, in this neighbourhood since this one was built!!!
Well it is near a playground and yet not far from a spectacular castle (that I missed).

I'm not expecting many to have seen this bridge as it is on a little walked camino (that's a hint if you are inquisitive enough). Mainly, like the chicken bridge, I posted the picture because the bridge was so cute.

Looks like a little archaeological dig is needed to reveal the rest of it :) Intriguing!

I'm working from a phone so I definitely am fat fingering the point.

Well, it's probably on the Catalan or Aragonese, between Barcelona to Pamplona. That narrows it down a tad.
🙃 ;)

That is why I didn't tell. Just in case someone DID want to try.
Maybe it is here.

No. But close enough to win the cigar. It is in Loarre but it is the bridge just to the north of the bridge you indicated (crossing the same creek). The map below shows both bridges.

[Text edited for clarity.]

Screenshot_20200904-101615.png

I was wondering if someone would check my list of caminos walked.

This looks like a wonderful camino, by the way; I'm surprised it is so rarely mentioned. And that is some castle!
I recommend that the Catalán be walked in the spring though. Too much brown in plowed up fields in the autumn and the fruit trees should be spectacular in bloom.

There are a fair number of castles along the way.

Ok, this one is spiced up a little. On the CF, first ⅓. This 13th century bridge has not been digitally modified, but I did quickly modify the background removing some buildings and cars. Should this cause alarm and foul is cried, I can share the original.

Is this "cleaned up" bridge at Larrasoana?
Not Larrasoana. The two walks I’ve passed by Larrasoana without entering. Think of a municipality you have to walk through and a bridge if you stay to the marked route you will eventually cross.

I have a one word “hint” that I would would be a dead giveaway. But I’ll keep it in my side pocket for now

And @Darby67, were those give-away clues that you erased? 🤔🤭
I'll make a wild guess and say the bridge at Zubiri (never mind...it's clearly not that one).
Well, not necessarily a dead giveaway, but yes I think it would be pretty easy to deduce with memory and some research.

Edit: And it doesn’t have as sexy of a name as the Puente de la Rabia in Zubiri :). Also, just to give perspective as it has been removed, the bridge is of humble sizing, similar to the Puente sobre el Rio Salado...if memory serves correctly.
