Where to start for 3 week walk

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
Depending on how much you plan to walk each day, I'd start in either Burgos or Leon. They are large cities, with nice albergues, and you're likely to meet up with some other pilgrims to walk with. If you start in Leon, and walk fast, I'd also recommend walking through to Finisterre. It is well worth the three additional days on the trail.

Hello Thomas,

With three weeks, Burgos at 485KMs from Santiago is almost 25kms / day and Leon at 305KMs is about 15Kms / day. Most people would probably opt from Burgos with that amount of time. Enjoy the open plains of Castile and start from Burgos!

Good luck and Buen Camino!

Burgos sound good. 485km should to be ok for me.

The other option is to start in Leon and continue to Finistere.

Can anyone compare these two options? What is the more interessting one?

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
There are many choices. I just completed the Camino Frances on Sept 30.

If I were you I would go from St Jean Pied de Port to Burgos. I would then take the bus to Leon and would go to Santiago from there. You avoid the Meseta and the Paramo which are furnaces in the summer and fall (I have done it...)
