I do realise I need to get a good guidebook, but in the meantime does anybody know of a easy to reach starting point for a ten days walk ending in Santiago de Compostela? To walk from Sarria isn't really long enough -any suggestions?
Hi
I've got 11 days of potential walking and am starting in Astorga. It looks like a fairly comfortable/standard 10 days of walking from here so I'll have an extra night in Santiago at the end I think. If you're flying into Madrid there are about 5 direct buses a day direct from the airport which take 4-5 hours.
Good luck.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Thank you, Bradders. I'll definitely look into starting from there. I've only just started planning, we've got over a year left to wait! You're leaving soon, aren't you? Buen camino!
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
