Where to Stay IN Le Puy?

I did some searching through the forums and couldn't really find an answer. I know that the Miam Miam Dodo guide, tourist offices, etc. are all available to find places to stay while walking the Le Puy route, but since I have none of those now and I'm leaving in two weeks (!), I was wondering what the options for accommodation in Le Puy are. Or alternatively, is it really necessary to book ahead for accommodation in Le Puy?

Thanks,
Katie

I stayed in the Capucins gite which has a website. http://www.lescapucins.net/
I booked two nights there online from home. It was a relatively simple gite 16 months ago, but was in the process of being extended and I see from the website, that it is now much grander, though still has gite beds available. It is close to the old town, but also handily placed on the hill that you walk up out of town, so I was able to go to the morning Mass and pilgrim blessing, then come back and pick up my pack on the way out....

There is also a youth hostel but you can't book it online yet. http://www.hihostels.com/dba/hostels-Le-Puy-en-Velay-020112.en.htm

The Tourist Office website is in French, http://www.ot-lepuyenvelay.fr/but they might possibly reply if you sought info about accommodation in English.

There are other pilgrim gites in Le Puy, but I am not sure if they are bookable online or not- but I suspect not.
