I started my Camino Frances on April 12 and arrived in Santiago on May 14. Shout out to everyone who started on the same day! I really loved the weather during my walk. Most days, it was around 20°C, though it occasionally reached 29°C in the afternoons, especially between 2 and 4 PM. I typically started walking around 7–8 AM, and I remember six days where it was as cold as -2°C when I left the albergues. I encountered rain on three days, one of which was particularly cold and heavy. My cloths and shoes were all wet, so they got heavier than usual and the wind was so strong, it kept pushing back. It was the hardest day but the kindness of the people walking with me really stood out. I heard so many, 'Are you cold?' on the way, and that made me feel warm inside.

I loved my first spring walk - started in SJPP on 25 May. It was many years ago so not at all crowded and the weather was great.
This year I walked June/ July from SJPP - the weather was great - had a few hot days of 32 C but I always finished early on those days. However there was a lot of rain over the Pyrenees a few days after we started so you never know. This year it wasn’t crowded till Sarria and even then apart from the massive school groups it was OK. Staying between stages you could get away with not booking although we did book one or two days ahead for my companion’s peace of mind.

30 days ? I'd say 15th June or so, as the only period in the good weather season when Sarria to Santiago is not insanely crowded is the first half of July.
I started on 12 June this year from SJPP and had good walking weather and absolutely plenty of accommodation for 42 days - taking it slow.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I don't know about May, but I finished the Francés in the first week of October last year, and the weather was quite nice compared to the first half of September, which was unbearably hot and dry (and I very much prefer walking in colder weather than desert weather. That's why this year I decided to walk in October). Nevertheless, there's an increased chance of rainfall in Spain during fall, so you're probably going to endure some wet days if you decide to go in October, but the temperatures are not that cold yet. Personally, I would say October is a perfect time to walk - not too crowded as well.

Won't be too hot? It seems close to summer season
I started on 12 June this year and mostly it was great walking weather - some hot days but not too bad as we finished before 1.00 pm on those days. Mainly in the 20’s and sometimes low 30’s. But weather seems to change radically from year to year …..
Edit. We had very little rain while we were walking though others walking in the same time period had quite a lot of rain at different times - it just didn’t fall where we were.
