Who is walking the Camino in April 2019?

I will be walking from mid-April and am looking for someone who plans to walk not much more than about 10 miles a day. I will be walking the Valcarlos Way and stay overnight there to make it a two-day journey to Roncesvalles. This will be my 5th Camino but first time solo.
Hi Kay, do you know your dates yet? I am walking volcarlos way on 25th April

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
For everyone who's replied thus far, well met! How are we all going to recognize one another when we personally stumble across one another? We need to come up with some simple visual cue. Any ideas out there?

There's the forum badge I just superglued onto my daypack(✯ᴗ✯)

I am not a fast Walker. Can do 1 mile in 19-22 minutes, but we walk the distances. My 1st cousin and I averaged 16.44 miles per day for 39 days straight on the Via de la Plata this past spring.

Buen Camino!

Starting from St Jean on the 17th April. Did the Orrison pit stop on my maiden Camino in 2016. Intend to push through to Roncesvalles this time. Will assess the weather and conditions before choosing my route.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Starting April 19 from SJPdP - I’ll be the slow one heading up the mountain...
Like the little train who could. Up the hill slow, down the hill fast. I will hopefully meet you. Buen Camino.

The forecast looks rather good for the 17th - sunny skies all day. I will try the Napoleon route if possible. I am hoping to go a little further to Burguete

Read that it's likely to be very busy so will see where my legs can take me. Not had the best preperation last week or so! 🙈

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
How’s the numbers arrive at St Jean tomorrow. Miscalculated how busy Easter April May be. 🙈
Roncevalles was full last night. I heard some people had to stay in the hotel instead of the albergue. Don't know how accurate that was. Today in Zubiri it was third time lucky finding a place. Alburgue Etapa on the main street. A great place. There does seem to be a lot of Spanish but I don't know if this is normal or not. Good luck!

Buen Camino to all. I'm at home. I finished on Wednesday. I started at 2th April from Burgos. And I have only 4 days without rain. Wish you good luck and enjoy the road. Buen Camino.

You were unlucky with the weather. I started from SJdP on 17th April and have now reached Burgos. So far only 20 minutes of rain perhaps because I bought a poncho😏

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hi Vaughan started the same day as you and called it a day at Burgos on Sunday. The first 5 days were all a Camino should not be, so stressful as my mistake hadn’t taken into account the extra number of people walking over Easter. The infrastructure couldn’t cope. I’m stubborn and refused to prebook a bed and 2nd day had to walk 38k to find one. That did my feet no favours. By Tuesday after Easter weekend the numbers dramatically calmed down to what you would expect.

Sorry to hear that. There were some problems in the first week with one big algurgue closed - I think 82 beds lost as a result, plus Easter as you say. I have now reached Carrion de los Condes and it is much quieter. Maybe you can restart another time? The weather is now wonderfully sunny if a little cold in the mornings.

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
I was only ever going to do about 2 weeks plus so Burgos was a sensible logistical place to pull off as I could get a coach to Bilbao and €57 flight to London booked 48 hrs before I flew.
I did not stop at Burgos because how busy it was, it dramatically quietened down by the Tuesday after Easter. 👍
Buen Camino

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
