Leaving in one week for the Frances/Invierno, I have booked until Pamplona and I will play the rest « by ears »
IDo you think that I could manage booking one day ahead using only the wifi for WhatsApp on the Invierno. or should I get a local sim card for my old Iphone ? in others words is there wifi most of the time in the albergue ?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
I can’t answer your question as we will not start the Invierno until June, but we decided to get a Spanish sim for our old iPhone. We haven’t had or needed cell phone capability in the past. But we think we might need to book more often and didn’t want to get stufk. Plus if one of us gets sick we thought we might need a phone. I’ll be interested in others’ opinions.

Written without any personal guarantee for your experience !

When I walked the Invierno, never made any advance booking. Trusted that where the day ended there would be a place that we would find accomodation. Almost all accommodation 'used' along each camino walked has been on that basis.

My experience is that almost every place along the walk there has been wi-fi, though I am aware that not all connections are that great and there might also be a need to be careful with how secure the network connection is, whether in an albergue, hotel or a cafe.

The Invierno is a very special camino !

Bon Camino

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Thank you both for your answers

It’s also was I was doing and what I will do.

Spanish SIM cards are so cheap that it is probably a good idea. Having said that, I have had no problems with wf-fi on the Invierno. If there is none in the Albergue, there are plenty of local cafés which will oblige for the price of a cup of coffee. Only after about the fourth day, between Quiroga and Monforte de Lemos, did I have a problem with accommodation and sustenance. This is worth looking into, although it may be resolved now, as I was last there three years ago. Buen Camino!

Hola, I gearing up to start my 1st CdS and have seen people recommended sleeping bag liners to protect against bed bugs. Do these help or is it a myth? Should I add the extra weight of bringing one?
