Is there really going to be a Wise Pilgrim Guide to the Via de la Plata out this November? If so, where will someone in the USA be able to get it?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
When I was at Santiago this summer, Michael (the Wise Pilgrim author) showed me the new versions of his very popular Camino guide books, pre-printing. He explained that they adopted a new type font to enhance readability. Many users praised the content but lamented the small typeface. So, he heard and responded. Take it from me, it works better.

The size of the book, overall, is somewhat limited by its ability to fit into a pants cargo pocket. I identified that as a 'must have' property. Other guide books either hang out of the pocket and can fall out, becoming lost, or they simply do not fit. The 'best' solution is a guide book that fits into pocket, with the flap fastened. The Wise Pilgrim Guides all fit in a cargo pants pocket...

Also, the Wise Pilgrim Guides have a new companion app called the Wisely Pilgrim app. It overrides the original mapping and tracking scheme in the Wise Pilgrim Guides that used real time satellite views and consumed far too much data and battery on your smartphone.

The Wisely app downloads the route map ONE TIME, plus updates as needed. It then uses the simple GPRS locator 'ping' on all smart phones to place you along the Camino track already on the downloaded map. it uses a fraction of the battery and data that the full guides use. Also, the new mapping is topographical. So you can see and evaluate hills before you get there.

Finally, if you have the Wise Pilgrim Guides installed on your smartphone, downloading the Wisely app is FREE.

Hope this helps.
