I had to share this photo i took April 30th, same month, same statue way different weatherJust coming into Ocebreiro after long hard climb to the top, knowing that I was going to make it to the end. April 2018View attachment 51169
Just like you the people I met were the best part of my Camino, my favorite picture of them.SO hard to choose just one picture, but the PEOPLE you meet are such a BIG part of the Camino experience that I have to go with a picture of them.
Never thought of it that way, but I agree with you that this was my favorite part of each day!Being chased by the dragon (when ever I woke up and started walking before sunrise)View attachment 51624
That just may be my dream car in the background.
I have that same photo, that I took of my sister! At this point I've literally thousands of photos from the many caminos, and like a previous poster stated...they ALL bring me joy!View attachment 51506
I loved all those quirky, old stone hamlets on the caminos! I'd make up a little song using the words hamlet, omelet, cutlet...stupid, I know, but I can be kind of "cheesy" and I'm not talking food!
The feeling of freedom and satisfaction at the end of the camino!

Spending time with your husband/partner is very special isn't it. You have to rely on each other so heavily that it brings you closer. I rode the Camino de Santiago with my husband back in 2013 and we both feel much closer to each other now than we did before. We only had one disagreement during the whole time, which was a miracle in itself!View attachment 50995
I was amazed at the closeness I felt with my husband in doing the Camino together. Mostly helpful, cooperative, grace beyond measure given both ways. Only a few "meltdowns'!
I know that hill and remember those trees! Lovely path up!View attachment 50782
Early morning magic west of Sarria...15/03/2009
Yes, correct! The final down hill felt seemed to take an eternity.
Sublime!Au sortir de Castrojeriz, vers 9 h du matin, le 16 octobre dernier. C'était éblouissant de beauté.

Time Traveler? Good to know people will still be walking the Camino in 2106On the way to Los Arcos, March 2106View attachment 51188
So long as the world is still inhabitable by people, I'm sure they will.Time Traveler? Good to know people will still be walking the Camino in 2106
I travelled from Canada alone to walk the Camino. I met so many amazing pilgrims that I still call friends today. We encouraged each other, cried together, laughed together, shared life stories....I’d pick pictures of all of those I met...which I have many....as well as people that live along the Camino that all hold a special place in my heart. How do you pick just one. So instead just me smiling as I did everyday.View attachment 50754
I remember that dreadful mud on the Route Napoleon. Not a place for a bike or a wheeled cart! Here's my son pushing his bike through that same spot. This is Gabriel and team on the first leg of his pilgrimage this summer--SJPP to Logroño. A powerful experience for all of us. (This summer, on to Castrojeriz...)

That bunch of grapes ... please tell me it’s windfall. If you'll excuse the language, this photo sums up the thoughts of all pilgrims at least once on the Camino! On the other hand, walking through vineyards is brilliant...
Absolutely! I wouldn’t dream of picking anything from the vine, though I did see a Brazilian woman do that, which I thought was not very acceptable. That bunch of grapes ... please tell me it’s windfall.
This is so beautiful. For some reason it reminds me of Thomas Hardy - one of my favourite authors.
This could be anywhere in the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, Australia. I left my 'home made' hiking staff behind a large eucalyptus close to SdC on my first/last Camino as a symbol of connectedness to country. Will be looking to see if it's still there next time.View attachment 51623
