Just walk,as long as there are no adverse weather conditions over the top is fine. I have done both with no prep. If Orisson have beds stop there if not they are incredibly well organised and will bus you back to beds and then back to Orisson in the morning. Trust God and your Camino. Pray...
Praying May the wind always be behind your back and everything our Lord wishes for you on this wonderful Pilgrimage May you willingly receive. Buen Camino
My experience was to use to Marino socks and insoles that absorb the impact. Listen to you body and stop when it is clear that you need to rest. It is not a race it is a pilgrimage- whatever that means to you. I walked the Camino solo this summer and never booked ahead therefore was able to stop...
I never really weighed it, though I did take things out before I went. Initially I was going to walk the Via Francigena got to Quines France from Canterbury Cathedral and decided to walk Camino Frances. Sent tent home and odd safety gadgets. I suppose approx 6kg

I own a zpacks arc blast. Highly recommend. The reason I bought one was I wanted to have light equipment. Whilst collecting my kit together everything was bought with that fact in mind, I walked the Camino Frances this year and found it a good choice. I did not book ahead, I walked until I...
I lost 1 stone 6lbs as I walked the Camino all I needed was a belt and pulled in the notches.
Take 2 emergency blankets one to lie on and one to put over you. The type they wrap marathon runners in. The other possibility is heated pads for the hands. Can be found in walking shops and on line...
Many congratulations on completing your Camino. I understand your feeling of anticlimax. However a very wise man on my first Camino once said to me it is not the walk that is your Camino but your journey within. For me this ring true and buoys me up when I reflect back. My first two Camino I got...
This is an interesting view. However for me the magic of those moments when we speak our truth to one another on our pilgrimage - with respect and with love- have been some of the greatest gifts I have been given by fellow pilgrims. Expressing how we feel and owning it takes many of us to a...

Several people have asked about the horse drawn carriage from Carrion de Los Condes. The telephone number is 687885147 the lady is called Marie Marris. She intends to begin next week ( today is the 18th May 2018) as is has been raining and the horses do not like the rain. Too late for me but I...
Just to let you know I have decided Orisson for tomorrow they were fully booked but have organised a bed they will ferry back to and then I will be dropped off back at Orisson to continue. Very kind and I will be better equipped for the next day Buen Camino
Seize the day Susie. You don’t need much light backpack and refer to pilgrims who have gone before you. The beauty of the Camino is that there is opportunity to take it gently. So train as you go. Take advice from the locals who will guide you. You will not be alone. No one lies on their death...
