Hello I have just booked 2 flights to arrive in Biarritz Sept 3rd at 17.40, this is a surprise for my husband as he has always wanted to do part of the camino, my worry is how do I get from the Airport to St Jean Pied du Port and if there are trains would they run as late as this on a Sunday, I...
Thinking about a future Camino route for my fourth time on the Way, I'm drawn to the Finisterre-Muxía loop. I'm unconcerned about collecting another compostela, so it's more a matter of the journey itself now. I've been to Fisterra and Muxía after previous Caminos, but always by coach, so the...
Okay, buckle up, friends! This will take some explaining. For secret Santa this year, I am getting a gift for my soon-to-be Father in Law. I'm still new to the family and learning what everyone likes. What I do know: he loves his Catholic faith, he loves his family, and he has expressed...

In Defense of Booking Com

I recently returned from volunteering for two weeks in an Albergue. All bookings were handled by B.com. Two beds were held back from the service in case someone needed to stay over (sick) or travel snafus. I developed a real appreciation of the convenience of the service. We were able to clean, cook, and interact with the guests without the tyranny of answering the phone. We were freed from the legal burden of safeguarding credit card details. Our “Front Desk” was available 24/7 365 should...

Having painful blisters unable to walk and have 7 days left. Currently in Santiago

Buen Camino, after completing last 100km of Camino Frances on backpack, my toes are full of blisters and really painful. Been walking with blisters for past 3 days. I dont think I could take it anymore. But I have 7 days left that I plan for Santiago to Finisterra/Muxia. Is that any recommendation how should I spend my next 7 days? I am thinking to take a bus and spend 1 night in Finister and 1 night in Muxia. But I still have 5 nights left. Should I take a domestic flight to somewhere else...

Travel companies

Planning to walk the Primitivo from Oviedo end of April with 3 other people. Looking for recommendations for a travel company to arrange accommodations and luggage transfer. Also wondering if I should have them include breakfast and dinner in the quote.

Women who wear shirts.... please share

I have a conference in Porto next year, no prizes for guessing what I'll do afterwards! ;-) I've been debating whether to post conference clothes ahead/home and finally decided not to. Conferences in my industry are smart-casual with more emphasis on casual. Clean walking boots or lightweight evening sandals will be no problem at the conference. New/unfaded walking trousers would work very well as bottom half. New/unfaded walking tops might even fit in.... but I know walking shirts exist and...

Pyrenees difficulty

Hello I am going to walk camino from Roncevalles to Navarette . Can't do the whole thing and this is my 1st time. I have months to prep still and I am 61 in reasonably good shape . I am considering starting in St Jean de Port How difficult is the stretch from St Jean to Roncesvalles ?

Just booked my flight to Bilbao, traveling by train to Irun to start the Norte, arrive in Bilbao on the 15th March and starting from Irun on the 16th of March. This will be my fourth Camino 2 x Frances From SJPdP and 1x Portugues from Lisbon. Hopefully lock down has not destroyed my legs too much still time to warm up and get fit. Look forward to meeting all the perigrenos.
Arrived in Santiago today! Amazing journey. I started out 30+ km per day and then slowed my pace. The Camino showed me my fervor. It also showed me my limits & taught me to slow down. I’ve learned so much and received so much on the Camino. Today I got my Compostela very quickly, got some food, & now I’m in my hotel room letting myself absorb it all. Thanks to everyone on this forum who were so supportive! 💖
