Hi Pegstar, I'm starting in Santander on June 19th. I'm also a bit concerned about finding an affordable bed each night. I did proactively book a bed at Hostal Santander for the 18th. Boat ride to Padron
The captain, Santiago, is wonderful. I think you'll enjoy the boat ride (dress warmly). Breaking Up the Walk from Porto to Vila do Conde
We walked from Porto to LaBruge on day one. I had just arrived the night before, but the walk wasn’t too difficult. I enjoyed the part between Porto and Matosinhos and am glad I didn’t skip it. Slippery quilt and sliding liner
I have a lightweight travel blanket (Rumpl) that I put inside the liner, so it stays next to my body. Not sure if your quilt is thin enough to allow this. It sort of turns my liner into a sleeping bag.- CObluebird
