Unexpected: booked out gîtes on Le Puy

We have booked clients on this Camino and it is always difficult. There is not an abundance of accommodation especially when you want a private room. The French are keen walkers and the Gites are the way they like to holiday. It is the summer holidays July and August in France. Also, an FYI they...

Portuguese Coastal book or not book?

I have an agency booking clients... if you are doing the coastal Camino and want to stay in private hotels, etc., be mindful that many of them only do bookings for 2 nights minimum as they are more aligned with the summer tourist trade than Pilgrims. I have no idea if you want to stay in Albergues.

    Bathroom/Shower/Toilet facilities in Albergues/Dorms

Contemplating walking the camino mid Sept 23 - Norte or Frances?

Start in SJPD and see how far you get... while there have been a lot of people on the French Way my clients this year said that there were only moments of congestion and then, as I always find, miraculously no matter how many people are there you find yourself in total solitude and wonder where...

My experience on the Camino Francés from Sarria…

As my business is related to the Camino I have walked many times, on different paths, at different times of the year and starting in different locations. I have found that despite perhaps a school or large group passing, I always had many hours where I wondered how it happened that there was not...

    Accommodation Availability

I have an agency and book Pilgrims' accommodations. We have been chatting with our accommodations and a lot of them have told us they are already up to 80% booked for 2024. This year has been challenging I sense that many people due to the past few years are booking rooms to avoid communal...

LIVE from the Camino A new threat to my pilgrim tolerance and zen-like state of relaxation

My take on it is go get a room if you are not prepared for all of the different behaviour, there is no common courtesy or common sense or any other category when you are talking worldwide audience ... every culture has its differences, pretty simple yet annoying at the same time ... TOLERENCE is...
