I'm looking at the app now, and it's easy to see which albergues are participating. There is a green band (many beds available) a yellow band (a few beds available) or a red band (FULL). It also shows what the situation was the previous day.
No, i'am walking from Pamplona to Santiago first than taking a bus to Valcena and walking back to Santiago. Not starting from Pamplona till May 12 but have already purchased my bus ticket to Valcena.

If I lived in Spain and was buying train tickets all the time I would probably book through Renfe but for one or two tickets a year I don't mind paying a little bit more if its easier for me.
I see airalo has individual countries are for regions like Europe or Asia. The regional are more expensive. i'am only going to be in Portugal for a couple days the rest in Spain. I'am going to Spain than Portugal than Spain again.
