Differences between the Frances and the Portugues?

I've walked both. First Frances and then the Costal. I loved Spain, but the people of Portugal were much more friendly. However, they do not speak much Spanish. The Costal is about 80 percent on boardwalk, an amazing structure and was well maintained in 2017. The Portugal route (from Lisbon) was...

I am new, excited, and equally nervous.

Enjoy, this is a Fantastic Journey. My wife and I walked the French Way in 2015 and Porto in 2017. The French way was 800 K (500m). I was 65 at the time and didn't have any real issues. Shin splints around Burgos, no big deal. Be aware that if there's a Hill you will walk over it, and if there...

    Connecting with other peregrinos

G'Day, I walked the Costal route in May 2017, from Lisbon. The Boardwalk is amazing. I didn't encounter many Pilgrims, until I got closer to Santiago. I met far more of the French Way from St Jean PdeP. Bein Camino.

    Hello from a Canadian newbie

FYI, I was 64 when I first walked from St PdP to Santiago. 800 K, 37 days, with two rest days built in. I've always been active. I found the Way very rewarding, and at times challenging. However, never once did I consider stopping. and have since walked the Portugal Route from Lisbon, along the...
