    Getting from Orisson to Roncesvalles

Sorry, Anhalter, I couldn’t resist… Chin muscle!? How much talking did you do? Maybe you mean shin muscle (leg) chin is the bit below the mouth that juts out above the neck. All the best

Shantiago - a Camino song in shanty style

I echo others… brilliant! I have forwarded it already to others especially to a very special cousin of mine… Robin (and wife Norma). I am taking them on their 3rd camino in Sept this year - Roncesvalles to Logroño - we have plenty of time to learn the lyrics!!

COVID Is Covid still an issue and how to deal with it ...

Masks no longer a requirement here in Spain. They were brought in again around the New Year but it only lasted a few weeks. However, caveat to the above... Makes sense to have a couple just in case, for your protection and in case, heaven forbid, you get it!

    Niggling hates (dislikes) on Camino

Tea made by a Spaniard... Not recommended. I had tepid tea made for me with hot tap water and hot, and I mean hot, milk. I leave it to your imagination 🤢

    Scam - again..

I spent hours, when I was scammed in January, looking for a contact number or email in order to contact a real person, not a robot in Booking.com. I eventually gave up. Grrr

    Scam & booking.com

Yes, I have fallen for it! What an idiot. I am always telling people to be careful when purchasing on-line. I am planning a shortish camino (Roncesvalles to Logroño) in September of this year. I often use Booking. Com for searching out accommodation and other things. I have a hotel booked in...

LIVE from the Camino Dog attack

I'm pretty sure too that of now -ish all dog owners in Spain are obliged to have insurance for dogs. Whether or not that covers them (the dogs that is!) if they attack and cause harm I don't know but, it is another string to one's bow!

    Staying motivated between Caminos

Oh gosh… where do I begin. I can resonate with almost everything said. I should aim be aiming to walk daily for weight and health reasons - nothing major, just a kilo or two too many, the odd creaking knee etc, etc. But walk just around the block? Not for me, zero motivation! But a camino… a...

Tips and recommendations for an elder pilgrim (90y)

Tuy to Santiago or Camino Ingles would be my top 2 routes to aim for. Tuy might be a slightly easier route. The ingles has a few wicked slopes/hills... out of Puentedeume and Betanzos.

Taxi T4 to Moncloa bus station cost

Rome to Rio now if it doesn't have to be cab... The best way to get from Madrid Airport (MAD) to Moncloa-Aravaca is to line 200 bus which takes 39 min and costs €1 - €5. Alternatively, you can train, which costs €2 - €3 and takes 42 min.

Travel question (connection through Schiphol) for the seasoned travelers

Likewise, probably just bad luck on my part but flight into Schipol arrived a tad late and despite my legging it with cabin bag only I arrived half way down the another “wing” of the airport to meet 2 air hostesses asking if I was heading to the departing flight further down. I just about...
