Sorry to say but you are assuming wrong. I am not on the Camino at the moment but I was on the del Norte just a few weeks ago. At that time it was not busy but albergues were preparing for the season, which tells me it has become a tourist attraction and that's all it is now.- Kaiplentz

Just booked flight to Santander in two days.
I just made a last minute decision and booked a flight to Santander in two days time. leaving for Camino del norte on Sunday June 28, few last minute questions...
Cabrales cheese and Cidre in Asturias. It's delicious with a crusty piece of bread. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. The cheese may not be to everyone's taste due to how strong it is, but I think its the best blue cheese I have ever tasted.- Kaiplentz

Pilgrim, were you injured on your 500 miles??
I was told that the normal recovery/healing time for a bone fracture is at least 6 weeks. However, it still takes more time to get back to normal after that due to no or very little activity. I guess everyone is different and unfortunately I walked for nearly 300km with that injury and for that...- Kaiplentz

Yes, unknown to me I broke a bone in my foot. I did not know at the time and only found out when I returned home. It turned out to be a stress fracture of a Metatarsal bone. I didn't even know you can break a bone by walking. I know the signs now and would not continue walking if it happend...- Kaiplentz

Thinking of Cycling? It is your Attitude that counts!
As previously mentioned in this thread, I cycled the Camino (Mozarabe and Via de la Plata) without a bell and finished three days ago. I had no issues apart from one occasion on a not so busy country road when a group of about 7 foot pilgrims (obviously taking advantage of the muchila service)...- Kaiplentz
