While at welcoming albergues there wasn't too much worry regarding walking away from gear while elsewhere, but use your best judgment.
As always, the journey is the main thing. Embrace the Camino!
All paths are lines. Straight and narrow or crooked, they always tend to lead you onward.
Of course, it's nice to see other lines along the Camino, whether we follow them or not.

My best advice: Break in your shoes. No blisters equals a good time.
Aside from that, just go. The infrastructure is so solid all you have to do is walk.
The quietly sublime motivates many of us pilgrims. Making time for simple photos in the fog might not get us to the next albergue as quickly, but it's progress nonetheless.
