I too would generously slather Vaseline on my feet, then I would put on a sock liner and then my wool socks. I got one blister on day 32 because I ran out of Vaseline. I will use this method again.

I'm 75% sure I will also be walking VDLP in April. My only concern regarding this route is the lack of pilgrims ; I stated this in a previous post which is very important to me. Based on the feedback I've received it does sound like this time of year is preferable for this route...
Thank you all so much for your responses! Alex, I personally didn't think the CF was a "walk in the park", I was in hurting most of the time and would drink an Estrella Damm, (more like several)or take aspirin just to ease the pain. ;)
I found the CF both mentally and physically challenging...
