    Latest viable date to start this year?

    Second this. November and December are wonderful months to walk, just keep an eye on the weather. I got snowed in at Foncebadon my first time. But there are plenty of beds, just double check the albergue is open all year. Arriving in Santiago at Christmastime is priceless.

    Bus from Porto to Vigo

    Alsa is the easiest to use in my opinion but they are all good, clean, and comfortable. The Campanha station bus & train are a little outside but accessible to the city centre.

    What’s better than walking a Camino ?

    I also went from peregrino to hospitalera. Both rewarding in different ways. It certainly gives you perspective! If nothing else, it made me a better pilgrim.

    It was a Wednesday problem, the local holidays are pretty hard to know in advance without exhaustive research. Everything was closed the following day in Molinaseca due to a local event, but nobody more than 10k away had any idea.
