So will I! I’m 81 and would love to do the Portuguese. Did the Francis in 2017. Was thinking I’m too old. Hope Pete can keep us up to date with his walk.
Walked from st j p de p to Santiago 5 years ago at 75. How I wish I had started earlier! Keep thinking when can I do the Portuguese. But 5 years older and a sick husband reality is setting in. I just read about and enjoy those who are walking now. But I am jealous!
Oh dear. ‘So long old friend’ tugs my heart. I walked the Frances in 2017 with my daughter at 75. Had the Portuguese on my list. To do it alone or with the grandkids If possible. (I think it would be so good for them). But with Covid, sick husband and at 80 I don’t think I will make it. I...
I personally would want to start at st Jean. I walked at 75 years old and bussed the Meseta from Burgos to Leon. Did it in 31 days. Just go and watch the dates. Bus a section if you have to. No need to have it set in cement! Camino provides.

Am so pleased to read all these posts. I was looking forward to walking the Portuguese at 80 next year but was reconsidering due to illness. In fact had really decided I shouldn’t go. (It’s a long flight from Australia also). I now have renewed hope and determination thanks to all your...
I cannot write anything better than what has already said David. But I do hope that in 2022 when I’m 80 and walking the Camino again I meet you on the path and we have a wine together. And you will say....well, I changed my mind and here I am!
I did not know of your eBay store. I hope I can...
Not sure if these pics will turn out I’m not good at this. But the cook book is excellent (I don’t cook but it looks good on the table!) and the other is also. Author has drawn pics throughout.
