Walked part of the route in October and part in April. Both great, might choose mid-September over October. In the autumn all the grapes are ripe, as are figs and apples etc. And you can also find mushrooms. In the spring, oh the sea of flowers :)
If you got MTB-shoes, the clicking shouldn't be a problem and you can have 2-sided pedals :) But then again, the only people I saw riding with clipless were Spaniards on mountain bikes. Everyone else seemed to be riding flats. I'll go with the 2-sided when I go on my bicicleta Camino. Which will...
