Very cool! Buen camino/bon chemin to you! I look forward to reading your blog. A friend did a few weeks on this route in May/June and it looked so beautiful.
Bala, I hope you get to do the Accessible Camino some other time! After seeing the movie, and then learning about the trips they organize, I put my name down for the list for next year. My original plan is to walk by myself in September of 2023, but a shorter Camino in June would be a great...
Just devoured all 18 posts - you write so well and I just couldn't stop! Sounds like you are having just an amazing experience. It is very encouraging to others - like me! - who can get a bit anxious... Love how you were getting into a flow and that the ascents were not scary anymore.
I am an...
A good friend walked the Primitivo in November 2022 and renamed it "El Camino Cerrado" as so many places where closed! They didn't really have an issue with accommodation, but cafes and restaurants were closed a lot.
I am loving everything about this thread! 😂 I used to ride myself, and doing a Camino on horseback must be beautiful, but I think I would want someone else to handle the logistics... About ten years ago I did a week-long horse trek in the Maremma (Tuscany) and it was amazing. We slept in tents...
Update: I was able to get a Macabi skirt when I was in the US last week, and I love it! I got the knee length in light grey, and while the color is a bit boring, it works well with the colors that I wear the most. I have used it for the last three days, including walking all over town for...
Lovely posts, Sunopo, thanks for letting us follow along! I am a fellow Nordic and have just learned about Hærvejen through a Danish couple who just walked it. (They have done lots of caminos as well and post on this forum as well.) They posted on FB every day while on Hærvejen...
Hi Dan, thank you so much for getting back to me, and wow, you have had a rough month/weeks! :O So sorry to hear about your flu, Covid, and the torn muscle - sounds extremely painful!
I am currently just walking where I live, but we have lots of trails (and hills!) so it is a good place for...
Wonderful thread, thank you Marco and the others who have chimed in! I am planning to walk the Primitivo next year and reading your stories is very exciting. :)
I am so glad you had more pilgrims tonight - and maybe even more than when you wrote the post. It has been so enjoyable to read your posts every day. Hope you have smooth handover tomorrow!
That's so cool, thanks for sharing! I love this: "A completely new path has just been launched that cannot be found anywhere else: a completely barrier-free pilgrimage path for wheelchair users from Worms to Lauterbourg in France. “With a complete infrastructure: toilets and accommodation...
I had to laugh at your last sentence! :) Thanks for sharing the photos, the place looks just fabulous! I hope and believe that it will become more known and more people will start coming.
I am just loving this thread; you write so vividly, thank you! I am sure you are great hospitaleros, Janet and Phil. And this albergue sounds fantastic.
