Hello Kerry, Of course you can do this. My advice, keep your own pace and even if you enjoy talking to someone, don't speed up. Maybe you will go to same albergue and the you can continue talking... if not, there is facebook, emails, etc. Myself , I walk slow, I mean slow. Everybody passes me...- Pacific
