Trail runners 100%. The Camino is very rocky/pointy/bumpy and you will be glad to have a rock plate in the shoe, which trail runners have, to protect your feet.
In 7 days I would suggest do the Portuguese internal to say Tui. I did the coastal to porto (in reverse) from Vigo it took 15 days, but I took my time. You will have a better walking experience and mix with fellow walkers on the internal trail...
That is very gracious, and there might be some that take you up directly on your offer. My practice is to set up specific forum areas that I watch. So, for example, you might go to the Routes in Portugal forum page, and select Caminho COASTAL...
Hi, I've walked both routes, but not the Freixo detour. I preferred the inland route, as it has less built up areas. Inland has more variety, with a few paths into forested areas. It's all pretty much a big suburb of Vigo though.
I took the coastal alternative as (IIRC) it was recommended in Gronze. I haven’t walked the inland route so I can’t compare the two, and Freixo doesn’t ring a bell for me. But here’s my entry for that day anyway, if it helps.
We would like to go up to Monte Santa Tregla to see the archiological site, church and view but I do not want to add the 7.2 rt KM to our day (and especially walk the downhill). Does anyone have experience with taxi's from the Cultural Center...
I would order a taxi beforehand.
First time I arrived in Ferrol it was 21.30 and there were still taxis at the front door.
Not sure about later at night so for your peace of mind do book a taxi.
Enjoy the Ingles!
