    Interesting. I would personally orefer the smell of perfume (hateful as it is when people seemingly marinade in it) to the smell of body odours that have not been toned down by deodorant. The price on pays for communal living....

    I was also considering walking feom Lisbon, starting in Sept 25th, but having read a few blogs it does sound as if the first eight days out of Lisbon are really awful. Any ideas/suggestions on an alternative route? Maybe a different starting point inland to get to Porto?
