    Theft in Leon and Logrono

Since 2013 I have spent about 90 days on various caminos (CF, Norte, Primitivo). I have never experienced any direct theft or even heard of it from people I was around. However, what I did find was worse in a way. It was the standard routine of "I have been robbed" and need money to get home...

    Del Norte advice

Hi MMcA, I did the Norte up to the the Primitivo and followed the Primitivo into SdC. For me and everyone else in my group of 6 the Norte got better the further west we went. There was just too much road walking on busy roads compared to the CF. I got the impression that the pilgrims weren't...

What to do if you Lose your Smartphone

I think I get your point ;). I have no problem with address books and journals (ones you write in using a pen that you fill from a bottle). However, I can see how for some people a smartphone provides a psychological handrail and emotional prop at difficult times.

What to do if you Lose your Smartphone

I left a mobile phone in a hotel room in Lugo in September whilst on the Primitivo. The manager found it and phoned some people whose numbers were stored (it was unlocked) to let me know. For some reason she was unhappy about posting it to the UK even though I said I would pay. In the end I...

Why you should not walk the Camino del Norte (or at least not until you have read this post!)

I did the Camino Norte in September 2018 and I wish I had read Alex's comments before I went. In short, I agree with a lot of what he says. I have done the the full CF and been back twice for 14 day sections so I do have something to compare it with. At Llanes I bailed out and bussed on to...
