LIVE from the Camino Seattle USA to Porto

I don’t remember. We just walked into the first pharmacy we noticed and asked for rapid antigen COVID tests in English and they knew exactly what we were talking about. They had a drawer full of them.

LIVE from the Camino Seattle USA to Porto

I should say: I am not really aware of the albergue situation. I didn’t bother to research if they are open or not. Because of COVID, we chose to book everything well ahead of time, and always a separate room in a hostel or hotel. Sorry for the confusion. When we passed the albergue in Rates, I...

LIVE from the Camino Seattle USA to Porto

Hello all! We have made it to Portugal and have been on our Camino a few days now. It has been very stressful leading up to the trip, deciding whether or not to cancel, but we decided to go for it. TLDR: everything has been much easier than I was expecting. Here is the COVID travel detail: We...

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD USA to Europe - please share which COVID test you took preflight

Please post which COVID test you took, where you took it (clinic and city), and what the turnaround time was. I think it would be incredibly helpful to a lot of people here. I feel like I am losing my mind - the entry requirements for Portugal for example are NAAT test within 72 or antigen...

COVID COVID Notice for staying in hotels and restaurants in Portugal

Can you tell me what to call them in Portuguese so I know how to ask for them in a pharmacy?

    My 2nd - CP partial - Porto to Valença - coastal/central

We are trying to save money where we can, so the flights are booked with my work-earned miles and not really optimal. Also, I did a more traditional camino two years ago - this time is more like a vacation with a partial camino in the middle. It's not really 'in the true spirit' this time...

    My 2nd - CP partial - Porto to Valença - coastal/central

Just making a post here so I can add it to the calendar. Girlfriend and I will be flying in from USA, and walking just the section from Porto to Valença. Keeping it simple by going slowly, having all lodging pre-booked, and not leaving Portugal. I plan on reporting in on the COVID situation for...

First Camino, Portuguese Central in September

Maybe you already know - but if you don't: Remember that Barcelos has its big market every Thursday. (It's one of the largest in Europe. It is a big mix of food, cheap Chinese junk, and local handcrafts. Interesting but not breathtaking.) So don't rush out of town on the 9th too early - make...

First Camino, Portuguese Central in September

Nice timing! My girlfriend and I will arrive in Porto Friday Sep 3, and will start walking Monday Sep 6. We are going to follow the coast to Vila do Conde, then meet up to central at Arcos/Rates, then continue up from there. We are taking it super slow and easy, wanting to explore each little...

Lone Peak 5 available in a few weeks.

I have the mid rise Lone Peak 4. They are imperfect in a few ways, but I really love them nonetheless. It would be quite nice actually to get an improved version. I went ahead and emailed them specifically asking if they will continue making mid rise versions or not. I'll let you know what they say.
