Pamplona. Very near the camino gate upon entering old town. Make your first main right towards cathedral and there it is. Rooms have fabulous tubs and beautiful views of the countryside if you face out from town. Very near the cathedral. Very reasonable. $

I heard people say it's a donativo so is free. Arg. I found that in a donativo I world leave as much as a privado simply for the bed, and an equivalent amt for any food so graciously prepared for me at a pilgrim menu in restaurant, sometimes more hoping it might provide a little...
One of my favorite places to stay was ay the italian confraternity 12 bed monastery/abbey 2/3 kms before itero de vega. It was called "puente fitero" (bridge over fitero)). A most excellent night in candlelight and friendship. It's a donativo.

We stayed here as well. It was a beautiful respite, albeit quite pricey. The tourist office (which is on the camino path as you enter the village) Will call and coordinate your pick up point. We walked to Amenal which is where they picked is up and returned us the following morning.

Beautiful walk. Hard because we aren't in the best of shape which would begin to change about day 4 as we became more fit.
