    Running shoes, not trail runners

My New Balance running shoes lasted from SJPP to Santiago and I didn't have a single blister.

Fear of heights and the Way from Le Puy

Thank you everyone for your feedback especially from those who expressed a similar dislike of heights. I feel reassured now that I will not encounter anything which I cannot manage.

Fear of heights and the Way from Le Puy

Thank you for your reply @lovingkindness I went back to reread the parts I was wondering about. It was actually the travelling companion (name changed) of the author who was challenged in two places. One day one from Le Puy to Montbonnet: "it was a long, hard climb out of Le Puy, then rugged...

Fear of heights and the Way from Le Puy

I've been reading a book which suggests there are a few spots in the first week from Le Puy which terrified the person writing because they have a fear of heights, i.e. walking between the wall of a cliff on one side and a scary, dangerous drop on the other. I'm a little bit afraid of heights...

Hello, planning for Le Puy to Santiago Aug-Oct 2022

Also add my name to the list of those starting in Le Puy in late August. I have intermediate level French but I’m sure I would appreciate the odd English conversation over dinner with a forum member en route. Perhaps it will be so!

Le Puy to SJPDP, late August to early October

Then, life happened and I’ve been gone from this site for a long time. There have been a lot of changes in my life since my first camino, especially since the plague...

In a burst of optimism I booked my flight to Lyon for Aug 26 with the intent to walk from Le Puy to Pamplona and ordered the pair of Miam Miam Dodo books from the publisher. Thanks to those who have responded to this thread already, especially with suggestions for other resources. I’m feeling...

Why does everyone have an opinion!

This is one of the best descriptions of the Camino I have ever read. Fits my own experience perfectly. Thank you. I quoted you today on the APOC Facebook page. I hope that was ok. Your wisdom needed to be shared...

    The daily routine

Just for clarification: It's not that I didn't see any machines, it's that I saw very few. Perhaps I was not looking as hard for them. It's good to know. Thanks for the information.
