I walked through those storms on the Portuguese Coastal last November too! It was crazy ! But the spirits of the people walking were amazing - a lot of laughs still! Now I'm on the Via de la Plata, almost at Zamora, and have been wading through flooded arroyos .it's still amazing and wonderful...
If I remember correctly, Artieda is up a steep hill to the left, and the camino goes by the bottom of it. The hospitelera at Arres suggested getting a bocadillo from the bar in Arres the night before, and that was a very good idea!
In Padron
In Padron now. Heavy rain all day from Caldas, with the paths under water in many places. A little let up at the moment, so exploring, and it is definitely worth visiting!
I stayed there last October. It was very clean and comfortable, and I really appreciated the hooks in the showers! The hospitaleras were really welcoming.There was no water in the morning for about an hour, as it was Oct 31, Halloween, and the local kids had turned the water off at the mains...
Hi, I walked that great route in October and November last year. I was happy to have my light hiking boots, especially after Oloron Ste Marie thru the Somport and on the Camino Aragon. Enjoy!
