We lost a set of black Leki trekking poles today between Ferrol and Neda just past the Monastario de San Martino.
We sat down for a rest near the top of the hill amidst the houses. The poles were left behind. We went back for them but they were gone.
We are staying at the municipal albergue...
For hand washing I use Legarto bar soap purchased in Spain. I like it so much, especially for stains, that I make sure to bring a bar home (to the US) with me!
I used baggage transport on parts of Del Norte last fall. Sometimes there was no pick up where we were staying so I had to carry my bag a few blocks to a pick up location. So I would choose a backpack.
We walked Del Norte this fall. I felt very safe. We met many people. And there were far fewer english speakers among the locals than on the Francaise.
The walking is harder but the scenery is stunning! Well worth it!
There is often taxi info posted in the albergue. Also we have been asked to message a screen shot of our location from a map app.
And they can always ask another peregrino who speaks Spanish to help them.

I agree that there are different kinds of footwear that can work. BUT I just finished Del Norte and while there was A LOT of road walking there was also plenty of walking on dirt and rocky paths at severe inclines. Sometimes wet and muddy. So footwear needs to accommodate differing...

We are on the Camino Del Norte. We left Florida Monday morning Aug. 29. As I took a shower before leaving for the airport I was filled with misgivings. What are we doing? I don’t want to go!

When we walked Francaise, our son had a health problem and had to go on the bus for several days. We, the parents, took turns going on the bus with him. One went on the bus, one walked. The next day, we traded. The day after, we traded again.
