June 2024 coastal route from Porto
Hi
My husband and myself are cycling the coastal Camino from Porto to Santiago and I would appreciate any advice you can offer.
The route I have planned out is as follows
Porto to Esponsende
Esponsende to Vila Praia de Ancora
Vila Praia de Ancora to Baiona
Baiona to Pontevedra
Pontevedra to Santiago de Compostela

If you can offer any advice or have cycled this route I would appreciate any input please.
Thanks
Aisling

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Do you specifically want to do the coastal route? The route I have planned for July is:
Porto
Barcelos
Ponte de Lima
Tui
Pontevedra
Padron (maybe)

I will actually be doing the frances first and then train to Porto for 3 days before I start.

Yes would prefer the coastal but am open to suggestions. Wow two casinos. Hope you have a great experience. This is our first. Buen Camino

For what it is worth. When I did my first camino from St Jean pied de Porte, I was going to do it by cycling it. I've made an effort to get in contact with people who have both walked and cycled it. All 3 of them advised me to rather first walk it and then cycle it. I am so glad for that advice and I fully support that view. At least I know now that it will not be possible to have the same experience, but I still want to cycle it.

Thanks Even, unfortunately my feet don't allow me walking long distances anymore. But hopefully we will still be able to experience the magic of the Camino by cycling.

I’m just finishing the bit up to Porto and enjoying my last night here.

I would suggest you look at Eurovelo 1 up to Caminho and go on the cycle lanes / quieter roads it recommends.

You don’t want to be cycling on Portuguese cobbled roads or some of the off road sections if you value your own rear end.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.
