May-June 2025 Camino Frances
I’m seeking bike rental company suggestions for Camino beginning in SJPP (bike only, no accommodations). Any advice? Thanks

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Thanks for your quick reply.

I’m interested in any recommendations members may have based on one’s experience or they might have good heard good things about given that not all companies are created equal and some companies require that you buy a package that includes accommodations (I’m only interested in bike rental).

Thanks again.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Type of bike? What load will you be carrying? Budget? Will you be bringing your own kit / tools / panniers with you?

You might be better off buying one as rental prices have increased substantially over the past few years. €350 rental for 2 weeks pre-Covid is now something like €550 which makes purchasing a store bike a possibility instead of renting one. I've done both.

Check out cycling-rentals. At €330 for a two week MTB rental, they might have one of the better rates out there. I’ve dealt with them a couple times and have been pleased with my interactions with Didi here in the States.

I used Cycling Rentals a number of years ago. Walked SJPdP to Pamplona, had bike and accessories delivered to my hotel in Pamplona. Dropped the bike off at a bike shop
in SdC at the end of my ride. It was seamless.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
I am using Bicigrino in July and I am renting an E-Bike. Their prices are excellent and service till now even better.
Efren Gonzales, on his YouTube channel, rented an E-bike about a year ago for the whole Camino Frances, including Finesterre. It looked very tempting to try!
Ray, maybe you could look him up as I think he talked quite a bit about it.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Here is a Irish Bicigrino's irreverent write up of his 2020 Camino with some observations on sharing Albergues and the route with non-cyclists. He started from home and covered almost 3000 km. A slightly different take from Efren's.

I loved his comment about the queue to wash clothing at Roncesvalles. It will ring a bell (pun) with a few here.
