On our first camino in 2013, I felt that we were mainly walking far away from main roads. On arrival in Villamayor de Monjardin, we got the key to the "castle" and then walked up the hill behind the village. It was a revelation, seeing the land spread out before us, as in an aeroplane. The...
We stayed in Pensión Mavi on our final camino in 2019. (John's 80th birthday) Basic but comfortable and friendly. Just what we needed after the trek from Azqueta (Perla Negra). The restaurant Mavi was also good value and pleasant.
Think your primary care physician (General practitioner in UK) should be your first port of call; he/she should know about the local situation re this specialism.
Sorry, but you really have to use them to realise how it works! No grasping at all, they just swing forward as you move. Watch the video. it may help understanding.
Your post brought back fond memories from 2013 when we bought our ponchos from Peregrinoteca, online. Had you stocked them then, we would have bought from you. I think you would have lots of grateful people! My height was then approx 5ft 2in so I had great coverage! John, at 6 foot, looked more...
We took the road in 2014, after our experience the previous year. A short distance down from the Alto, there's a big picnic spot with spectacular views. We stopped there ("second breakfast") for a while and can see that we left there at 10. Got to Uterga at 11.30. Not fast walkers. Went down the...

I have a TINY paper fan that came out of a Christmas cracker many years ago. It fits perfectly in my bum-bag and has proved so helpful on many occasions, on camino, but also sitting beside a very hot learner pool , whilst my grandson had swim lessons.
When I suffered this problem, I used 1% hydrocortisone cream for the itch; I then found that rolling my socks down as far as possible, so they were just at top of my shoes, seemed to prevent further problems.
If you have a partner/friend/buddy sharing the ride, then hooking your 2 packs together can be a deterrent. My husband and I have done this on several camino and non-camino trips. It can be stressful, keeping an eye on what is going on under the bus!
I have fond memory of being still a good way from Los Arcos on a very hot day, probably 2014, when an energetic small dog bounded up the track. He ran well past us and I had the idea that he had been sent to check out how many pilgrims were still on the track, en route to "his" albergue. I'm not...
