LIVE from the Camino Santiago to Rome Part 1
I remember the day I arrived, a long time ago now in 2016 ,Casa Benigno was "closed" (on a Sunday) but I had contacted them in advance and they could not have been more helpful. I remember a huge amount of "solid" food! It was retro then, so it must be even more retro now. ;) Buen camino. Tim- timr

LIVE from the Camino Santiago to Rome Part 1
The Via Postumia passes from Genoa over through Piacenza (on the VF) and on to Eastern Europe. I guess it is more of a route to Santiago from Eastern Europe. I have pictures somewhere of 'arrows' outside the Basilica in Budapest which pointed you there. But from Genoa to connect with the VF...- timr

As they used to say when I lived in Nigeria....."I jealous you too much!" Rome I would happily live in henceforth and forever. I lived there 1991-1995. I kind of live outside London atm but actually am at ancestral home in Liverpool with domestic duties for past 3+ years. -

This is a bit off topic, but over 25 years ago I visited Seattle and my sister then living there had a ticket for a tour of the Starbucks factory, and guided coffee tasting, purchased at a fundraising auction for the children's school. The Ignaciano is magnificent! I did it in November. You are unlikely to meet anyone, but if you do, it will most likely be a group of 20 or so alumni of a Jesuit Highschool in the States!! Or indeed a group of Jesuits. Sailing to Genoa sounds wonderful - I was last there hitchhiikng in 1975...- timr

I have always liked the Terre di Mezzo guides which I used initially in Italian. Good to see that they continue to work on English versions. Long ago (well in 2018) they had the guide to the second half of Francigena as an interactive app, (not just a pdf), but they abandoned that as an idea... -

I made some enquiries about travelling from Cyprus to Israel by sea a couple of years ago which were not encouraging. No regular ferry. There was the 'possibiity' of finding a cruise ship, but that seems highly unlikely now. And I guess would be expensive. There was also discussion on...- timr
