    Pilgrimage or vacation?

So if my company uses the terminology PTO (Personal Time Off) then it is clearly NOT a vacation days hence I am clearly NOT vacationing and clearly Pilgrimaging! Phew.... 😓🤪

    Overcrowded Camino Frances

@Luiken And wild camping is generally discouraged be it in English or Dutch so I would humbly suggest to revisit your plans

    Compostela: Electric Bikes Excluded?

All of th above and to add the unfortunate rise in crime. its very convenient to grab a lady's purse while flying by on one of these contraptions  Just like other Yanks - never heard it. most common phrases I heard are "on your left\right" or "behind you"

Camino Francés - Pamplona to Burgos?

Hello, welcome to the Forum and, yeah - what they said! No need to push yourself into "something unknown". Take your sweet time, have plenty of days with shorter distances, enjoy your walks and breaks and perhaps take another 'rest'\play tourist day somewhere in-between (Logrono is always good...

    Backpack?

60L IMHO is too big. Folks go with 30 or even a tad lower. I had 35L and that was plenty. Take the advice above and ho to a store where you can try some on for a good fit Good luck and Buen Camino

    Laundry Masher

    A bargain for a grenade

    Laundry Masher

Product Size 64 x 93.5 x 65.5mm Weight 99g Does not look like you can get refillable beads so once the 200 washes are done - time to buy a new Grenade I dont know... less than 100g - thats negligible IMHO and on a Camino of say 6 weeks (which on Frances is a good stretch) at even 2...

    Plastic Storage Bins in Santiago???

Sorry but IMHO and as many folks said - definitely an overkill. Other options are available, as been suggested, so please give a consideration On top of everything else IMHO that plastic bin may also attract unwanted attention. then you have to deal with it on arrival (to wherever you are flying...

Beds in First Stage Albergues - Current Situation, late May 2024

Hello and thank you 3 days ago 2 of my friends had to hoof it up from SJ all the way to Espinal (via Napoleon Route) as absolutely every single bed in-between was taken. I don't mean to sound flippy and I guess we all appreciate the good intentions but ... there cannot be any 'reassurances'...

Money taken from my Cash Passport! ☹️

Unfortunately not at all. The way to bypass 2FA has been established and is firmly in place for couple of years now

Help with accommodation on Camino Francés

If it is seems to be too challenging to go Napoleon Route then look into Valcarlos. One way or another, if the weather cooperates start early and just take it slow with plenty of rest stops. You now have a bed in Roncesvalles so you don't have to race

    Zubiri hazardous path

Enough to take couple of hours. Distance wise.... I think about 3km... Don't recall for sure My friends decided to skip it today. Apparently the lady had a nasty fall when we walked in 22 so today with its being wet and muddy they chose to take a taxi

Help with accommodation on Camino Francés

Hello @PilgrimRoberto Usually the general advice is to book as far as Pamplona but you might wish to go farther given latest developments. As far as donations go we are of the mind that a donativo should reasonably equal any private accommodation; so say roughly €15 for a bunk and another...

Hiking poles on the plane in Santiago!

Lucky you Apparently enough people had a different experience and were told to leave them behind or the poles were simply confiscated
