Me, too. I managed a local backpacking/climbing store some years ago, and there were two other locally run backpacking/mountaineering/climbing/kayaking stores in town, too. We were all friends and each store kind of had its own specialty. All of us working in the local stores were active...
I highly recommend engo pad that go into your shoe to stop friction points. I was getting a hot spot on one foot where my orthotic met the side of my shoe. Couldn't really tell there was a ridge there, but, after many kilometers, I knew there was a point of friction there. The engo pads are...
I was thinking that too, reading these posts. Bringing an insulation pad to sleep on and maybe a tarp/poncho to cover in case of rain, (tho I bet there are awnings to sleep under most places) seems like a good idea. Wild camping is not the end of the world. And if you ask around to the locals...
I did the same thing, at one point; went swimming off that same beach at night. I lived to tell the tale, luckily without the embarrassment of having to be rescued (I'm sure his conditions were different).
There is no evidence so far that the descent is what caused his death. You can try to avoid all risks, but in the short time I have on this planet, I choose to spend it outdoors walking as long as I can.

I wish I could get you (and others) to adopt my simple water bottle system. Make two loops of shock cord (the stretchy cord) and safety pin them in place on the front of the shoulder strap (the safety pin is just to keep them from sliding down.. not to take any weight). Get a bicycle water...
I would suggest not booking five nights; book one night in Finnisterra and then decide when you get there (too many guys in tie dye parachute pants with dreadlocks for my taste)
Only anecdotal, but I remember a number of reports of gasto-illnesses after Conde de Carrion a couple years ago. Local people wouldn't necessarly get sick. With certain bugs, the intestinal bacterial flora can learn to accomodate or defend against them. Newly exposed would get sick, tho.
Okay, this is wild. The day after I wrote that (above) I got a call from a casting director to be a background actor is a movie being filmed here, "The Lost Bus" with Matthew McConaughey. Not because I'm a super model, though... I will be a fire evacuee and they are looking for "plain/average...
Yep, they are an ill-advised import to Spain. I grew up as a child with them in California, where they were also an ill-advised import. I still love the smell and the memories it brings back to me.
I do make unscented, too, sorry I forgot to add that. The scents are just a small amount of essential oil you smell while youre washing your hair, doesn't linger. i thought of eucalyptus when I was in Galicia.
I agree, I HATE Perfumes! I got stuck sitting next to somebody on the plane - 9 hrs -...
